  The biggest global concern of 2022-
 2023 is the huge increase of prices 
 as a consequence of unforeseen circu
 mstances, like the Covid-19 epidemic
  for the last 3 years and the wars t
 hat have broken out. Therefore, it i
 s of paramount importance for compan
 ies to take actions so as to cope wi
 th the predicament and reduce their 
 costs in order to be able to remain 
 profitable. Amongst other solutions 
 for lowering the costs lies the chan
 ge of the way that companies purchas
 e their services and materials, by u
 tilizing new technologies. More and 
 more companies worldwide seem to use
  electronic auctions as the new tool
  of procurement professionals that b
 rings benefits not only to companies
  acting as buyers, but also to suppl
 iers. The purpose of this master the
 sis is twofold; one aspect involves 
 the description of e-auctions, this 
 contemporary way of running competit
 ive biddings, including their differ
 ent types, their benefits and drawba
 cks, the available platforms to run 
 them and adaptation of end-to-end pu
 rchasing process when using them, wh
 ereas the other one focuses on findi
 ng the adoption of e-auctions by com
 panies of private sector in Greece o
 f 2022, along with the benefits reap
 ed, the reasons of non-usage and oth
 ers. The first purpose will be serve
 d mainly through secondary research 
 in the current bibliography and arti
 cles, while the second one through p
 rimary research in procurement profe
 ssionals of private sector companies
  in Greece, with the usage of a ques
 tionnaire. Collected raw data are go
 ing to be analyzed with SPSS using v
