 ract\n Advancements in hardware and 
 software have significantly promoted
  AI technology. Recent progress in l
 arge language models (LLMs) has enab
 led natural language interactions be
 tween humans and computer systems. T
 his allows us to engage in natural c
 onversations and meaningful discussi
 ons with non-human entities. Based o
 n these developments, intelligent sy
 stems—such as social robots and virt
 ual agents—are emerging as job assis
 tants, conversational partners, and 
 even companions. As these agents bec
 ome more integrated into daily life,
  designing effective communication b
 etween humans and agents becomes cru
 cial. To realize such agents, it is 
 important to design effective method
 s for exchanging verbal/nonverbal in
 formation between humans and computa
 tional agents. In addition to improv
 ing AI and robotics technology, we m
 ust explore the human cognitive proc
 esses involved in interactions with 
 agents and their effects on people. 
 This exploration will contribute to 
 understanding the psychological and 
 social impact of technology on human
 s and to building more beneficial an
 d ethical systems. Human-agent inter
 action (HAI) is the research field t
 hat examines the interaction between
  people and agents, which are human-
 like, intelligent entities (or entit
 ies that appear intelligent). In thi
 s lecture, I will introduce research
  focusing on humans interacting with
  computational agents and discuss re
 lated studies in the HAI field.\n \n
  About the Speaker\n Yotaro Fuse rec
 eived the B.E. and M.E. degrees in e
 ngineering and the Dr. (Eng.) degree
  from Kansai University, Suita, Japa
 n, in 2017, 2019, and 2022, respecti
 vely. From 2021 to 2022, he was Rese
 arch Fellow of Japan Society for the
  Promotion of Science (DC2). From 20
 22 to 2024, he was an assistant prof
 essor with the Department of Intelli
 gent Robotics, the Faculty of Engine
 ering, Toyama Prefectural University
 , Imizu, Japan. Since 2024, He has b
 een an assistant professor with the 
 Department of Data Science, the Facu
 lty of Information Engineering, Toya
 ma Prefectural University, Imizu, Ja
 pan. He received the SOFT Emerging R
 esearch Leader Award from Japan Soci
 ety for Fuzzy Theory and Intelligent
  Informatics in 2024. His research i
 nterests are in human–robot interact
 ion and social simulation, specifica
