 :\n Στην παρούσα εργασία εξετάζονται
  οι μέθοδοι διαχείρισης και αξιοποίη
 σης των βιοαποβλήτων στο Δήμο Λεμεσο
 ύ, με σκοπό την βιώσιμη διαχείριση κ
 αι την βελτιστοποίηση αυτών τεχνικά 
 και οικονομικά με γνώμονα την κοινων
 ική αποδοχή και την κυκλική οικονομί
 α. Αρχικά συντάχθηκε ένα ερωτηματολό
 γιο 25 ερωτήσεων, το οποίο απευθυνότ
 αν στους κατοίκους του Δήμου Λεμεσού
 . Το περιεχόμενο των ερωτήσεων ήταν 
 για την αξιολόγηση της υφιστάμενης κ
 ατάστασης αποκομιδής των απορριμμάτω
 ν και καθαριότητας του Δήμου, καθώς 
 και για τις γνώσεις τους για της διά
 φορες μεθόδους διαχείρισης των αποβλ
 ήτων. Στη συνέχεια οι ερωτήσεις αφορ
 ούσαν τα βιοαπόβλητα για την ενημέρω
 ση των πολιτών αλλά και το πεδίο γνώ
 σεις τους. Ο στόχος του ερωτηματολογ
 ίου ήταν να ερευνηθεί η γνώμη των πο
 λίτων για την ανέγερση μιας μονάδας 
 επεξεργασίας των οργανικών αποβλήτων
  στον Δήμο Λεμεσού. Ακολούθως, αναλύ
 θηκαν η κομποστοποίηση και η αναερόβ
 ια χώνευση ως οι προς μελέτη μέθοδοι
  επεξεργασίας οργανικών αποβλήτων, μ
 ε την παρουσίαση της πορείας της επε
 ξεργασίας των αποβλήτων έως και τα π
 αραγόμενα τελικά προϊόντα. Με βάση τ
 ις προαναφερθείσες διεργασίες έγινε 
 μια προσέγγιση υπολογισμού των προϊό
 ντων σύμφωνα με τα δεδομένα τα οποία
  συλλέχθηκαν από τον Δήμο Λεμεσού. Ε
 νδεικτικά, αναφέρεται ότι από τις πα
 ραγόμενες ποσότητες οργανικών αποβλή
 των του Δήμου παράγονται 13825m3 tn/
 έτος κόμποστ και 1500000 m3/έτος μεθ
 άνιο, γεγονός που υποδηλώνει μια πολ
 ύ θετική ως προς τα αποτελέσματα πρώ
 τη προσέγγιση για την υλοποίηση των 
 εγκαταστάσεων. Εν κατακλείδι, τα οφέ
 λη που προκύπτουν από την επεξεργασί
 α των οργανικών αποβλήτων είναι πολυ
 άριθμα για το περιβάλλον και την οικ
 ονομία, με τα κυριότερα την παραγωγή
  κόμποστ και μεθανίου για οικονομικο
 ύς περιβαλλοντικούς σκοπούς. Σε τελι
 κό στάδιο, εξετάζονται οι τρόποι βελ
 τίωσης των διεργασιών με στόχο την α
 ύξηση της ποιότητας τον προϊόντων, ό
 πως επίσης και της ποσότητάς τους, ε
 νώ παράλληλα τονίζεται η σημαντικότη
 τα της ενημέρωσης των κατοίκων για τ
 ην σωστή λειτουργία του συστήματος.\
 n \n Abstract:\n The present study e
 xamines the management and utilizati
 on of biowaste in the Municipality o
 f Limassol, with the aim of sustaina
 ble development and optimization bot
 h technically and economically, taki

 d circular economy principles. Initi
 ally, a questionnaire consisting of 
 25 questions was compiled, addressed
  to the residents of the Municipalit
 y of Limassol. The content of the qu
 estions was aimed at evaluating the 
 waste collection and in the Municipa
 lity, as well as their knowledge of 
 various waste processing methods. Su
 bsequently, the questions focused on
  biowaste to inform citizens and ass
 ess their knowledge in this area. Th
 e objective of the questionnaire was
  to investigate the opinion of citiz
 ens regarding the establishment of a
 n organic waste processing unit in t
 he Municipality of Limassol. Further
 more, composting and aerobic digesti
 on were analysed as the methods for 
 processing organic waste, presenting
  the framework from waste treatment 
 to the final products generated. Bas
 ed on the aforementioned processes, 
 an approach to calculating the produ
 cts was made using data collected fr
 om the Municipality of Limassol. For
  instance, it is mentioned that from
  the generated quantities of organic
  waste in the Municipality, it was c
 alculated that 13825 tn/year of comp
 ost and 1500000 m3/year of methane, 
 which indicates a highly positive fi
 rst approach to the implementation o
 f the facilities. In conclusion, the
  benefits arising from the processin
 g of organic waste are numerous for 
 the environment and the economy, pri
 marily including the production of c
 ompost and methane for economic and 
 environmental purposes. At the final
  stage, methods to improve processes
  are examined with the aim of increa
 sing the quality and the quantity of
  the products. Last, the importance
