  \n ABSTRACT \n In this study, the a
 dsorption behavior of asphaltene fra
 ctions from Greek Prinos crude oil o
 nto calcite and dolomite mineral pow
 ders was investigated. Asphaltenes, 
 the heaviest and most polar componen
 ts of crude oil, are known for their
  complex structure, high aromaticity
 , and tendency to precipitate under 
 certain conditions, often leading to
  flow assurance issues. A modified v
 ersion of the IP143 method was emplo
 yed for the extraction of asphaltene
 s, using mineral powders derived fro
 m Greek source rocks as the adsorben
 ts. By allowing prolonged precipitat
 ion times in n-heptane, higher yield
 s were obtained, offering a more eff
 icient recovery route for surface-in
 teracting species. The experiment yi
 elded five distinct asphaltene fract
 ions: whole, bulk, normally adsorbed
 , heavily adsorbed, and irreversibly
  adsorbed. Analytical techniques inc
 luding CHNSO elemental analysis, Fou
 rier-transform infrared spectroscopy
  (FTIR), and mass balance assessment
 s were used for characterization. Re
 sults revealed a clear correlation b
 etween increasing polarity and stron
 ger surface adhesion to the mineral 
 substrate. Additionally, a trend of 
 decreasing carbon content was observ
 ed with increasing polarity. Notably
 , the use of tetrahydrofuran (THF) a
 s a solvent led to the unexpected fo
 rmation of a sludge-like residue, po
 tentially indicative of polymerizati
 on or strong complexation with the a
 sphaltenes—an occurrence not commonl
 y reported in the literature.\n Thes
 e findings not only deepen our under
 standing of asphaltene–mineral inter
 actions in carbonate reservoirs but 
 also provide a methodological framew
 ork for future studies focused on im
 proving reservoir wettability profil
 ing and asphaltene management strate
 gies in enhanced oil recovery (EOR)
