"Glocalising universities: a shifting horizon"

Dear colleagues,

Hasselt University invites you to participate in the EURECA-PRO Education and Research Days 2026, with the theme Glocalising universities: a shifting horizon.

During this three-day conference, we will explore how universities can embrace global challenges and perspectives, while maintaining their local anchoring and impact. How can higher education contribute to a world in transition? How do balance globalisation and local relevance in education, research and policy?

This conference is open to everyone within Hasselt University who is involved in teaching, research, policy and support - from teachers and researchers to support services staff. Together with our partners within the EURECA-PRO alliance, we will create and international, inspiring and interactive platform for exchange and collaboration.

Important to know:

This event replaces the traditional Education Day of the Educational Development, Policy and Quality Assurance Service (OOBKZ). Participation is free and flexible: you choose whether to participate for one,  two or even three days.

What can you expect?

We foresee both scientific and practice-oriented sessions, keynotes, interactive workshops and networking moments. We are also proud to highlight UHasselt's own teaching and research potential.

Would you like to make a substantive contribution yourself?

We encourage all Hasselt University colleagues to submit a proposal for day 1 (education) via the call for submission. The deadline for this is August 15, 2025.
