A delegation from Nanjing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics (NUAA) visited the Technical University of Crete on Friday, 17 July 2026, as part of its official visit to Greece.
The delegation was welcomed by the Rector of the Technical University of Crete, Professor Michalis Zervakis, the Dean of the School of Production Engineering and Management, Professor Michalis Doumpos, Professor Panagiotis Partsinevelos of the School of Mineral Resources Engineering; and Professor Ioannis Papamichail of the School of Production Engineering and Management.
The NUAA delegation included Professor Liu Changjiang, Dean of the College of International Education; Professor Song Xiaofeng, Associate Dean of the College of Automation Engineering; Professor Jiang Ju, Director of the Professors Committee of the College of Automation Engineering; Professor Wang Qin of the College of Automation Engineering; and Ms. Yan Kong, Head of the Department of the College of Automation Engineering.
During the meeting, representatives of both universities delivered presentations highlighting their academic profiles, research activities, and international collaborations.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured selected research laboratories of the Technical University of Crete, where members were introduced to the University's research activities, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and innovative work across a range of scientific fields.
The delegation visited the Laboratory of Geodesy and Geoinformatics of the School of Mineral Resources Engineering, the Laboratory of Dynamic Systems and Simulation of the School of Production Engineering and Management, and the Intelligent Systems and Robotics Laboratory (IS&RL) of the School of Production Engineering and Management.
During these visits, the laboratories' research activities were presented, followed by discussions on opportunities for joint research initiatives and future scientific collaboration.
The meeting was held in a highly positive and constructive atmosphere, reaffirming the shared commitment of both institutions to explore opportunities for strategic cooperation. Discussions focused on the prospects for joint research projects, student and academic staff exchanges, and participation in international programmes, with the aim of strengthening the international outreach and global presence of both universities.
