Dr. Alexandros Stefanakis in Lublin, Poland as a Visiting Professor

Assistant Professor Alexandros Stefanakis of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete (TUC) visited the City of Lublin in Poland as a Visiting Professor in June 2-8, 2024, invited by the Department of Environmental Engineering of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin and the Mayor of the City, within the framework of the Program "Visiting Professors in Lublin".

He was invited as an expert in the field of sustainable and decentralized wastewater management, with the aim of strengthening international research cooperation and supporting the educational work of both the University and the City of Lublin.

During his stay in Poland, Prof. Stefanakis had the opportunity to give lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students, PhD candidates and the teaching and research staff of the University, while he also held an open lecture for the public and the residents of the City of Lublin, as well as interviews with the local media.

At the same time, he had a series of contacts and discussions with the Rectorate of the institution and the Mayor of the City, as well as with professors and researchers and discussed the possibilities for further research and teaching collaboration between the University of Lublin and the Technical University of Crete.

In addition, in his capacity as the President of the International Society of Ecological Engineering, he also met with the President of the Polish Association of Ecological Engineering, where they discussed strengthening relations and closer cooperation between the two organizations.
