Four graduates of the Technical University of Crete have turned an entrepreneurial idea into a growing Greek startup, securing an investment deal worth €100,000 in exchange for a 12.5% equity stake in their company on the popular Greek television show Dragons’ Den Greece.
The company, ebarber, is a digital platform for discovering barbershops and men's hair salons and booking appointments online. Its ambition is not only to transform the way customers search for and book appointments, but also to revolutionise the way professionals manage and grow their businesses.
Technology was familiar territory for the founders of ebarber. However, building a business proved to be a very different challenge from developing software. The team had to enter an industry in which phone calls, face-to-face communication and traditional appointment books had long been the primary means of managing bookings.
Today, ebarber is a digital platform connecting customers with barbershops and hair grooming businesses, enabling them to find professionals and book appointments online. At the same time, it provides business owners with tools to manage their bookings and customer relationships, while continuously expanding its range of services to include features such as online payments and digital customer management.
The team's vision goes far beyond simply making it easier to book a haircut. Its goal is to create an integrated digital ecosystem that supports the day-to-day operations, management and growth of businesses across the barbering and men's grooming industry.
