The President of the Pancretan Association of America, Diane Kounalakis, and the President of the World Council of Cretans, Nikos Kastrinakis, were welcomed on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, by the Rector of the Technical University of Crete, Professor Michail Zervakis, and the Rector-elect, Professor Konstantinos-Alketas Oungrinis.
The meeting took place within the framework of the long-standing collaboration between the Technical University of Crete and the Pancretan Association of America, as well as its broader engagement with the Greek diaspora.
During the meeting, held at the Rector's Office, discussions focused on the University's ongoing collaborations with the Pancretan Association of America, the Pancretan Endowment Foundation, and the World Council of Cretans, along with opportunities to further expand and strengthen these partnerships.
Reference was also made to the 7th World Congress of Cretans, which concluded successfully a few days earlier and featured faculty members from the Technical University of Crete as speakers and session moderators.
The meeting concluded in a particularly cordial atmosphere, with both sides expressing their commitment to continuing and further enhancing their collaboration.
