Professor Konstantinos Gyftakis of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the Technical University of Crete has been appointed an Invited Speaker by the IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter of the Higher Institute of Computer Science and Multimedia of Sfax (ISIMS, Tunisia), in his capacity as an IEEE IAS Distinguished Lecturer.
His lecture took place on Thursday, April 30, 2026 and was titled:
“Modern Aspects and Challenges on the Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis of Electrical Machines”
After the lecture concluded, an engaging discussion followed with a Q&A session on critical topics, such as the role of digital twins in fault diagnosis of electromechanical energy systems, the prioritization and required cost of equipment and provision of diagnostic services in industrial electrical drive systems and the reliability of sensing devices in condition monitoring systems.
