Anastasia Ailamaki, Professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland and member of the Council of the Technical University of Crete (TUC), has been awarded a highly competitive Advanced Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). This prestigious distinction recognizes outstanding scientific achievement and leadership in research. Professor Ailamaki will lead the project “A Principled Approach to Resource Optimization through Declarative Data Systems” which has been awarded €2.5 million in ERC funding.

Professor Ailamaki is a graduate of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at TUC, where she earned her M.Sc. degree. In 2022, she was appointed to the School’s External Advisory Board.
