Professor Elia Psillakis as an Invited Keynote Speaker at two leading International Conferences in Analytical Chemistry

Professor Elia Psillakis of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete participated as an Invited Keynote Speaker at two leading International Scientific Conferences in the fields of Chromatography and Analytical Techniques, where she also served as a member of the Scientific Committee.

At the 44th International Symposium on Capillary Chromatography (ISCC 2026) and the 21st GC×GC Symposium, held from 17–22 May 2026 in Riva del Garda, Italy, Professor Psillakis delivered a Keynote Lecture entitled “Greener by Design: Transforming Analytical Chemistry with Purpose”. She also chaired the round-table discussion on “IUPAC Project Round Table Discussion: Greenness of Official Sample Preparation Standard Methods”.

The ISCC conference series, established in 1975 and held biennially, is internationally recognized as the premier forum for all forms of Chromatography and Separation Science, with particular emphasis on Capillary Techniques and Innovation across a broad range of applications.

Among other invited speakers at the conference were: Prof. Stig Pedersen-Bjergaard (University of Oslo, Norway), Prof. František Švec (Charles University, Czech Republic), Dr. Björn Erxleben (Shimadzu Europa, Germany), Dr. Frank Michel (Merck, Germany), and Dr. Massimo Santoro (Markes International, UK).

In addition, at the 19th International Symposium on Hyphenated Techniques in Chromatography (HTC-19), held from 26–29 May 2026 in Leuven, Belgium, Professor Psillakis delivered a Keynote Lecture entitled “Rethinking Green Solvents: A Life-Cycle Tool for Assessing Real Solvent Impact”.

The HTC conference series, established in 1990, is internationally recognized as a leading forum for Hyphenated Techniques in Chromatography. It is organized under the auspices of three Belgian Universities and the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK), underscoring the long-standing prestige and scientific standing of the event.
