The Technical University of Crete participated in events organized by the Center of Greek and Chinese Ancient Civilizations (KELKIP) at its headquarters at Southwest University in Chongqing, China, where the 3rd Global Forum on Mutual Learning among Civilizations took place on April 16, 2026.

Representing the Technical University of Crete, Vice Rector for Finance and Development, Professor Danae Venieri, delivered a presentation entitled “A Short Portrait of the Technical University of Crete and Its Educational Cooperation with Chinese Universities and Institutions”.

As part of the Forum, the Vice Rector also participated in the symposium “Languages as Vehicles of Global Culture: The Greek Language as a Bridge for Dialogue among Civilizations” and in the 120th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony of Southwest University, both held on Saturday, 18 April 2026.

The Greek delegation, which also included the Ambassador of Greece to Beijing, Dr. Evgenios Kalpyris, comprised representatives from the following Higher Education Institutions:

• Aristotle University of Thessaloniki 

• National and Kapodistrian University of Athens 

• Hellenic Open University 

• University of the Aegean

• University of Patras

• Panteion University

• Technical University of Crete

Finally, the Greek delegation visited the High School Affiliated to Southwest University, where students are taught the Greek language, as well as the Chongqing College of Architecture and Technology.
