TUC hosts the 14th EETN Conference on Artificial Intelligence (SETN 2026)

The 14th EETN Conference on Artificial Intelligence (SETN 2026) will be held in Chania, Crete, Greece between 9 and 11 of September 2026. SETN 2026 is organized by the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society (EETN) in collaboration with the Technical University of Crete.

SETN 2026 is dedicated
to the loving memory of Pavlos Peppas and Themis Panagiotopoulos.

The venue of the conference will be the Cultural Centre of Chania, kindly offered by the Region of Crete (Regional Unit of Chania), which will be a co-organizer of the conference. To date, Platinum Sponsors of SETN 2026 are Starttech Ventures, Epignosis learning technologies, Yodeck, Κaizen Gaming; while Optasia is a Gold Sponsor of the event.

Background

The EETN Conference on Artificial Intelligence (SETN), also known as the Hellenic Conference on Artificial Intelligence, was established in 1996 as the conference of EETN, the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society, and since 2002 is held biennially at different locations in Greece. The conference is international, its official language is English, and international participation is highly encouraged. It is one of the most prominent forums in Greece for Greek and International scientists to present original and high-quality basic/theoretical and applied research in all aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The conference aims to:

  • bring together AI researchers
  • to promote knowledge dissemination and collaborations,
  • inform students about the current state-of-the-art in topics related to AI,
  • promote research results to companies and
  • facilitate the development of innovative products.

Scope of the SETN 2026 Conference

The conference invites high-quality submissions describing work in all AI areas, from fundamental theoretical work to applications in various domains. The main track of the conference is intended for full or short papers presenting unpublished, novel research in any AI area; while the submission of “nectar” papers (abstracts of already published papers) is also possible.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Machine Learning (ML)
  • Multi-Agent Systems (MAS)
  • Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KRR)
  • Speech, Natural Language Processing and Understanding (NLP)
  • Search, Planning and Scheduling (PLAN)
  • Safe, Explainable, and Trustworthy AI (XAI). Includes ethical AI.
  • Uncertainty in AI (UAI)
  • Robotics (ROB)
  • Game theory and social choice (GT)
  • Constraint satisfaction and optimization (CS)
  • Games and Virtual Environments (GAME)
  • Human Aspects in AI (HAI)
  • Data Mining and Data Science (DMS)
  • Vision (VIS)
  • Multidisciplinary Topics and Applications (MULT)
  • Applications of AI (AAI)

Invited Speakers

SETN 2026 has confirmed a great line-up of five invited speakers, consisting of

who will be talking on topics as diverse and challenging as governance for AI agents and AI for mental health; and with some of whom also sharing their memories of dear late colleagues Themis Panagiotopoulos and Pavlos Peppas.

Connect-to-the-Industry Track

SETN 2026 plans to also include a "Connect-to-the-Industry" track, with participation of many companies, including representatives of the platinum and gold sponsors Starttech Ventures, Epignosis learning technologies, Yodeck, Κaizen Gaming, and Optasia.

Paper Submission – Proceedings

All paper submissions will be handled electronically via the Easychair Conference Management System at the following address: www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=setn2026

All accepted papers (with the exception of "nectar" papers) will be included in the conference Proceedings, which will be published by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in the International Conference Proceedings Series and will become available through the ACM Digital Library.

All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed on the basis of technical quality, relevance to the topics of the conference, originality, novelty, significance, and clarity. The review process (for non-"nectar" papers) will be double-blind, hence authors should ensure that they do not reveal their identities.

Awards

In SETN 2026 the following awards concerning full paper submissions are foreseen and will be presented at a special session.
