The Rector of the Technical University of Crete, Professor Michael Zervakis, attended as an official guest in the 7th China–Central and Eastern European Countries Meeting, where he presented the achievements of the Technical University of Crete and highlighted prospects for future collaboration. This meeting serves as the principal platform for cooperation and is organized at a high intergovernmental level, acting as the main instigator for official partnerships between institutions.
During his stay in China, the Rector, visited three universities in different cities (Beijing, Jinan, and Qingdao), where he presented the Technical University of Crete and explored opportunities for academic collaboration.
Beijing University of Chemical Technology already collaborates with Professor Petros Gikas, Dean of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, and has expressed interest in expanding academic cooperation to include the entire School.
Shandong Jiaotong University is interested in developing academic collaborations at both the faculty and school levels, particularly with the School of Production Engineering and Management and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Qingdao University of Technology has expressed immediate interest in establishing joint programs with the School of Production Engineering and Management and the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering.
The visit was organized by Ms. Zhu Shiheng, Professor of Chinese Language at the Technical University of Crete.
