The Library and Information Center of the Technical University of Crete conducts educational seminars in order to acquaint users with the library environment, the services offered and the information resources provided (digital or print).
All user groups (undergraduate students, post-graduate students, faculty, researchers or external users) can apply to participate in the seminar.
Two types of seminars are offered:
- Tour in the library and search methods for the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). This type of seminar is mainly for new users who want information about library services and the library environment. The tour is conducted in groups (maximum 20 people) and lasts about a half an hour. Group or individuals interested in attending the seminars should fill in the on-line application form or get in contact with library help-desk at 28210-37273.
- Electronic Information Services: searching databases and e-journals. This seminar is for users who are looking for bibliographic references to support their research. The databases, which the library has a subscription to, are presented in detail and search tips are given. The seminar is conducted on an individual basis and lasts approximately one hour. Individuals interested in attending the seminars should fill in the on-line application form or get in contact with library help-desk at 28210-37273.
