EbscoHost e-books

In collaboration with the universities of Patras, Thessaly, Ioannina and Aristoteleion University the L.I.Ce. provides access to the full-text of 1.351 e-books, via the Ebscohost platform. The e-books of Ebscohost are accessible through the OPAC of the L.I. Ce. and through the EBSCOhost site

HEAL-Link e-Books

In collaoration with Heal-link, the L.I.Ce. provides access to collections of scientific e-books of Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francics as well as to IEEE Proceedings. Additionally, collections of electronic dictionaries (Oxford Reference Online, Grove Art, Grove Music) is provided.

The "Kallipos" Repository

The "Kallipos" Repository is a website that collects books, learning aids and objects produced within the framework of the project "Hellenic Academic Electronic (Text)books”. The repository aims at the systematic recording, organization and long-term preservation of the (text)books and the learning objects of the academic community.

You can search within the full text of (text)books and learning objects, as well as browse the entire scientific content of the repository through five (5) broad subject areas.

Open Access e-books

  1. Directory of Open Access Books, DOAB:The Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) is a discovery service for Open Access monographs. DOAB provides a searchable index to peer-reviewed monographs and edited volumes published under an Open Access business model, with links to the full texts of the publications at the publisher’s website or repository.
  2. Project Gutenberg on-line book catalogue  Project Gutenberg offers over 38,000 free ebooks: choose among free epub books, free kindle books, download them or read them online. We carry high quality ebooks: All our ebooks were previously published by bona fide publishers. We digitized and diligently proofread them with the help of thousands of volunteers. No fee or registration is required, but if you find Project Gutenberg useful, we kindly ask you to donate a small amount so we can buy and digitize more books. Other ways to help include digitizing more books, recording audio books, or reporting errors.

Global Consumer Network - ebooks.This Web site was launched in 2009 as part of the Global Consumer Dialog and Public Education Network on Access to Knowledge (A2K) Issues, originally funded by Ford Foundation. Through regional meetings and online dialogue, the Global Consumer Dialogue identifies problems consumers face in accessing and using copyright protected materials, highlighting access barriers that require further investigation, identifying the legitimate needs of artists and content creators, and reframing enforcement debates to advance member groups’ economic, political, and cultural interests.
