Associate Professor Fotios Pasiouras was ranked in the top 4% authors-researchers in economics



Fotios Pasiouras, Associate Professor at the School of Production Engineering and Management and member of the Financial Engineering Laboratory at the Technical University of Crete was ranked in the top 4% authors - researchers in economics in the world based on his publications over the last decade. According to the most recent ranking (January 2017) of the bibliographic database IDEAS/RePEc he was included in the top 4% of the list “'Top 10% Authors – Last 10 years publications”. This ranking was the outcome of the evaluation of a total of 49,208 registered authors in economics from around the world based on number of research/academic criteria relative to their publication record over the last ten years (number of citations, Wu-index, H-index, Number of Distinct Works Weighted by Recursive Impact Factor, Downloads, etc.)

IDEAS / RePec is the largest bibliographic database dedicated to the general discipline of Economics (financial economics, banking economics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, health economics, public economics, etc.) in the world indexing over 2,200,000 items of research from academic journals and 13,734 economic institutions (universities and other research active institutions). 

Short Bio

Fotios Pasiouras has published 6 books and edited volumes and approximately 70 papers, many of which in leading academic journals like: Management Science, Journal of Money Credit & Banking, Journal of Banking & Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, etc. 

He is Adjunct Professor at the Hellenic Open University, Associate Member at the Centre for Governance & Regulation at the University of Bath, Visiting Research Scholar at the Institute of Finance of Audencia Business School, Secretary of the Executive Board of the Financial Engineering and Banking Society, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Banking, Accounting and Finance, and Subject Editor of the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money and Emerging Markets Review. 

In the past, he worked at various UK universities, and he served as Co-coordinator of the EURO Working Group on Efficiency & Productivity Analysis (European Operational Research Society), Co-Director of the Centre for Money Banking & Institutions at the University of Surrey, Visiting Professor at EADA Business School, Honorary Research Fellow at Coventry University, Visiting Scholar at the Lally School of Management & Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Foreign Research Fellow at the Central Bank of Indonesia. 

His research has received awards from the University of Bath School of Management (Dean’s Award for Research Excellence, 2008), Coventry University (Frank B Dehn & Co Best Research Student Prize, 2005), and the international publishing firm Emerald (Emerald Literati Network Highly Commended Award, 2008 & 2009). His biography has appeared in the “Marquis Who’s Who in the World” (2010 & 2014). In August 2013, IDEAS/RePec ranked him in the list “Top Young Economists” with the top 200 young research economists in the world. 

According to Google Scholar his work has received over 4,000 citations and it has an h-index of 31 (February 2017).
