New extension of the suspension of the educational function with physical presence at TUC until May 10, 2020

Following the latest announcements made by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs and the issuance of a new Joint Ministerial Decision on April 10, 2020, the TUC Rectorate would like to inform you that the suspension of the educational function with physical presence at the Technical University of Crete is extended under the same terms until Sunday, May 10, 2020, as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19. However, distance education is normally carried out, according to the relevant decision by the Senate of the Technical University of Crete. In addition, with a recent decision of the Senate, taken during the 02.04.2020 meeting by teleconference, the academic calendar for the Spring Semester has been modified and the distance education class schedule will be carried out normally during the following days:

  • 13.04.2020 Holy Monday
  • 14.04.2020 Holy Tuesday
  • 15.04.2020 Holy Wednesday
  • [... Easter holiday period ...]
  • 23.04.2020 Easter Thursday
  • 24.04.2020 Easter Friday

to recover one week of teaching, while the holiday period for Easter will be limited to just one week, from 16.04.2020 (Holy Thursday) to 22.04.2020 (Easter Wednesday).

At the same time, due to the extension of the temporary traffic restriction, with the publication of a new Joint Ministerial Decision, the transfer to and from the TUC Campus up to April 27, 2020, 6:00am is permitted only to TUC employees with proper documentation.

Finally, we recommend to the entire TUC Community the frequent monitoring of the website of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), as well as the strict adherence to personal preventive and hygiene measures, in accordance to ECDC guidelines.
