NatRisk project | Study visit and training of teaching staff at TUC | 10-12 July 2017


Within the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education project  “Development of master curricula for natural disasters risk management in Western Balkan countries” (NatRisk), coordinated by the University of Nis, Serbia, a group of professors from Institutions from the beneficiary Western Balkan Countries visited the Technical University of Crete, Chania, in July 10-12, 2017.  Twenty-five representatives from 5 partner institutions were present at the meeting, 16 of them were from Western Balkan partner Institutions, namely, The University of Niš (www.ni.ac.rs),  UNID: University of Defence in Belgrade (http://www.uo.mod.gov.rs/en/), UPKM: University of Priština settled in Kosovska Mitrovica (www.pr.ac.rs/en), UNSA: University of Sarajevo (www.unsa.ba/ ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, UBL: University of Banja Luka (http://www.unibl.org.

During the visit, presentations were given by: Prof. Georgios Stavroulakis, Deputy Rector, head of Quality Assurance Unit, School of Production Engineering and Management, TUC, Prof. Vassilis Moustakis, School of Production Engineering and Management, TUC, Prof. Nikos Passadakis, School of Mineral Resources Engineering, TUC, Associate Prof. Yiannis Tsompanakis, School of Environmental Engineering, TUC, Ass. Prof. Panagiotis Partsinevelos, School of Mineral Resources Engineering, TUC, Asst. Prof. Maria Stavroulaki, School of Architecture, TUC, Prof. Filippos Vallianatos, Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Asst. Prof. Yiannis Marinakis, School of Production Engineering and Management, TUC, Mrs Maria Bakatsaki, PhD candidate, School of Production Engineering and Management, TUC, Dr. Georgios Tairidis, School of Production Engineering and Management, TUC, and Mr Panagiotis Alevantis, Former EU executive officer.

Participants received information related to the topic of the project, as well as the structure of a European University and the related Quality Assurance measures, with the perspective of further integration of Western Balkan Countries in the European Union. Discussions prepared further cooperation in the future, within the running project and beyond.

About NatRisk:

NatRrisk is a Joint Project in the context of Erasmus+ Capacity building in Higher Education action for the development of master curricula for natural disasters risk management in Western Balkan countries. Work methodology of NatRisk project is elaborated through eight work package types, encompassing in total 34 activities necessary to achieve project aims and objectives.
