Evangelos Gidarakos and Maria Aivalioti are the new IWWG Task Groups Chair and co-Chair

In September 2017 Evangelos Gidarakos and Maria Aivalioti (both from the Technical University of Crete) volunteered for the functions of  the International Waste Working Group Task Groups Chair and co-Chair respectively and have been nominated by an approval quota of 100% of the expressed votes by the TG leaders and co-leaders during the same month. In the framework of its 17th regular meeting the Board unanimously approved the proposed candidates.

Since 2009, Professor Evangelos Gidarakos has been a valuable member of the IWWG Board, as well as the leader of the IWWG Working Group for Toxic & Hazardous Waste Management. One of the main actions of this group is the organization of the International Conference on Industrial and Hazardous Waste Management CRETE, which  takes place every 2 years in Chania Greece

The IWWG was established in 2002 to serve as a forum for the scientific and professional community and to respond to a need for the international promotion and dissemination of new developments in the waste management industry. IWWG provides an intellectual platform to encourage and support integrated and sustainable waste management and promote practical scientific development in the field.

Conceived as a think-tank, whose work is baseds  on scientific principles oriented towards practical applications, the underlying structure of the IWWG enables a focus on a wide range of subjects, to react promptly to problems that arise in the field, and to communicate effectively within the professional community.
