36 Technical University of Crete Professors among the Top Scientists Worldwide

The high quality research work produced at the Technical University of Crete (TUC), as well as the international reputation TUC has acquired, have been confirmed once again this year, according to the recent ranking of the bibliometric study by John P.A. Ioannidis of Stanford University published on October 10, 2022 by Elsevier. This ranking, entitled this time "September 2022 data-update for Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators", is announced annually and evaluates the performance of all academics worldwide. Thirty-six (36) Professors of the Technical University of Crete appear cumulatively in the two ranking lists.

The updated 2022 ranking of the world's top scientists is based on a number of indicators, focusing on the impact of their published work, during the year 2021 and on their overall work respectively, and concerns the evaluation of these indicators for over 8,000,000 scientists worldwide. The broader annual evaluation of John P.A. Ioannidis is based on the impact of the published research work and in particular on the citations received by each scientist with at least 5 publications according to the Scopus database.
