Eleftheria Karagianni is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Crete, School of Social Sciences, and visiting scholar at the KU Leuven Belgium. She holds a PhD from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has studied French Literature (undergraduate studies: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and University of Nice, Sophia Antipolis - postgraduate studies: Stendhal University of Grenoble) and Sociology (undergraduate studies: University of Crete - postgraduate studies: National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). She speaks fluently English and French, and has a good command of Spanish. Her articles have been published in international peer-reviewed journals and at the local press. She has been working as administrative staff (under contract and in permanent statutory posts) in higher education since 1999, having collaborated with major institutions in the country (Hellenic Mediterranean University, University of Crete, Athens University of Economics and Business) and also with the General Secretariat for Youth. She is a national statutory civil servant at the Technical University of Crete in which she has been the coordinator of the Erasmus+ Program, executive staff in the Quality Assurance Unit, and later, at TUC Strategic Planning Unit. She is also an active member of the TUC Gender Equality Committee. From September 2022 until June 2023, Dr. Karagianni was on secondment to the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE).
