Excursions

Thursday, April 23rd

Excursion for accompanying members of the conference participants.            

Schedule: Departure from Chania (1866 square) at 10:00 am.  Trip to  Rethymno. Tour of the old city (archaeological museum, castle). Then, we continue on to the village Asi-Gonia and to the village of Argyroupoli where we visit the waterfalls and have lunch.  Then we drive to Kourna lake where we will have a stroll by the lake and sit for coffee and taste the famous pies (sfakiani). Return to Chania, roughly at 18:00.  

The cost is included in the registration fee. Meal expenses are not included.

Friday, April 24th

Excursion for conference participants as well as and accompanying members.              

Schedule: Departure from Chania (Technical University of Crete) at 12:00 am. First, we visit the Venizelos tombs in Akrotiri.  Then, tour of  Venizelos’ house in Chalepa.  Then trip to the historical village of Theriso (declaration of revolution in 1905 for union of Crete with Greece) for lunch. On the return, visit to Venizelos’ family home in Mournies. Return to Chania, roughly at 18:00.

The cost is included in the registration fee. Meal expenses are not included.

Sunday, April 26th

Excursion for the conference participants as well as and accompanying members.    

Schedule: Departure from Chania (1866 square) at 9:00 am. Visit to the archaeological site of Knossos and its museum. Then, trip to Heraklion for a city tour and lunch. Return to Chania, roughly at 17:00.

Cost: 15 Euros per person, not including dinner and the museums entrance fee.
               
Note: the excursion will be held only in the case where 30 or more persons apply.

    Location: NAMFI Officers Club «Asteria» (Akrotiri)
