Eleftheria Karagianni is head of the Strategic Planning Unit at the Technical University of Crete (TUC) and researcher. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Crete, School of Social Sciences and visiting scholar at KU Leuven, Belgium. She holds a PhD from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has studied French Literature (undergraduate studies: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and University of Côte d'Azur - postgraduate studies: University of Grenoble Alpes), Political Science and Sociology (undergraduate studies: University of Crete - postgraduate studies: National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), as well as Quality Assurance and Strategic Planning (postgraduated  studies: University of Patras). She speaks fluently English and French, has a good command of Spanish, and has attended numerous seminars in the field of Public Governance. Her articles have been published in peer-reviewed ιinternational academic journals, as well as in the local press, while she has also participated in international conferences. She has been working in higher education administration since 1999, having collaborated with major institutions in Greece (Hellenic Mediterranean University, University of Crete, Athens University of Economics and Business) as well as with the General Secretariat for Youth. She holds a civil servant position at the Technical University of Crete where sh has served as Erasmus+ Coordinator, executive staff in the Quality Assurance Unit, and currently as Head of the Strategic Planning Unit. She has has also been an active member of the Gender Equality Committee at TUC. From September 2022 to June 2023, Dr. Karagianni was seconded to the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Accreditation at the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE). She is also a member of the Panhellenic Association of PhD holders in Public Administration (PASYD), as well as of the Administrative Chamber of Greece (DEE).
